Basic Functions: Promotes & sells capital manufacturing equipment to the roofing, metal component, and precision fabricating industries to deliver an effortless customer experience.
Nature and Scope: Metalforming Inc. is the North American leader in metal fabricating technology. The company sells and services high quality metal folders, shears, rollformers, slitters, curvers, and storage handling systems from the most respected manufacturers across the globe.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of sales territory and customers within to meet customer expectations, deliver world-class service, and promote the sales/service process.
- Maintain prospective sales list compiled from lead generation, business directories, industry publications, trade shows, web sites, travels, and other sources.
- Manage territory utilizing CRM System to maintain existing customers, convert competitive accounts, and create new account opportunities.
- Travel regularly through assigned territory to personally meet with existing and prospective customers to develop relationships and sales transactions.
- Develop expert knowledge of our vendors: contacts, locations, capabilities, etc.
- Demonstrate products to emphasize salable features.
- Create sales strategies per market segment, customer, and application.
- Ensure and maintain expected sales margins on all sales.
- Prepare quotations and sales contracts accurately with all required documentation.
- Manage customer expectations throughout pre- and post-sales processes.
- Have an in-depth understanding of industry competition and competitive advantages.
- Adapt sales approach to suit industry and market trends.
- Identify new product needs within the industry and communicate with management.
- Prepare reports of business transactions and sales activities through CRM tool.
- Maintain accurate expense accounting.
- Coordinate customer training with assistance of scheduling supervisor.
- Maintain customer data and transactional information in CRM.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to assist in understanding of products and sales processes.
- Investigate and resolve customer concerns and issues and identify areas of improvement.
- Manage long-term sales cycles.
- Attend and actively participate in all trade shows.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- HS Diploma.
- Preference for mechanical/electrical technical degree (Associate/Bachelor)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in machinery sales or the roofing/metal components/precision fabricating industry or equivalent experience.
- Experience in developing and executing territory sales strategies.
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and closing skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently to meet or exceed goals.
